Ghirlanda
There are two visual elements that make up the images in this series: a putto (a winged child or putti) and the garland (which gives the series its title). Between both elements the compositional space is occupied practically in its entirety.
Series made in 2013.
The series stems from my admiration for Pompeian painting, in which it is common to find scenes starring these characters, scenes in which, in my opinion, ingenuity and mystery are conveyed at the same time.
The images have been made with charcoal and pastel on paper.
Later I developed a variant in which, in addition to another child figure, I introduced a cat. The latter is interesting because it helps to convey, in a very efective way, that the putti are mythological beings, since their small dimensions are evident.
