Heremit’s Mountain
While I was spending the month of September 2020 in Jarafuel, I went one day to Cofrentes, one of the nearby towns, to draw on the mountain of the hermit. It is a hill located at one side of the town that is, due to the shape of the terrain, isolated from it. There lived for many years a hermit who preserved the hermitage and also built a reproduction of the Holy Sepulcher and a «reproduction» of the tomb of the Virgin Mary.
The hermit also cultivated garden areas around them, built stairs to access where prayers can be read, etc. In short, this man created a place of great beauty, very suggestive, also for drawing or painting landscapes.
